Marilyn Schonberner
Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President

Marilyn was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President effective January 1, 2016. In this role Marilyn is responsible for the overall financial management of the company, including Accounting, Audit, Tax, Planning, Treasury and Insurance.

Marilyn joined Nexen in 1997 and since that time has held positions of increasing responsibility including General Manager of Human Resources Services, Director of Corporate Audit, Director of Business Services U.K. and Treasurer / VP of Corporate Planning, prior to this appointment.

Prior to joining Nexen, Marilyn spent over 15 years in Finance, Strategic Planning and Organization Development in the Energy and Consulting Sectors. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary. She has earned the designations of Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Human Resources Professional. Marilyn completed the Senior Executive Development Programme at the London Business School.
